Barlow Mountain Elementary School held Awareness Week, which was a full week of activities designed to engage students with ideas of diversity, culture, tolerance, and empathy. For more information, please read our issue of RPS News.
Ridgefield High School sophomore Jeremy H. won the Connecticut 4th District’s Congressional App Challenge for his app, Nature Hero. Nature Hero helps find public trails and outdoor spaces in Connecticut's 4th District.
On January 15, we began providing weekend meals to BMES students. We will distribute meals on Friday afternoons for students to bring home from school. Each package will include several meals. We cannot guarantee meals provided will be dairy or gluten-free. To opt-in for these meals, please see our sign-up form.
The kindergarten registration for 2021–2022 school year is now open! We can't wait to welcome our new kindergarteners. For more information, please see our Registration and Immunization page.
We will be holding one Early Dismissal day per month between January and May where students will engage in asynchronous learning in the afternoon. The purpose of this time is to allow our faculty to plan, prepare and discuss best practices to support student learning. Each of our schools will send a reminder as we approach the dates below.

Parents who elect to change their children’s learning model into or out of Cohort “C” (full-time distance learning) may do so by:
- Elementary School Parents: Please directly contact the building principal via email and “cc” your child’s classroom teacher.
- Middle and High School Parents: Please directly contact your child’s school counselor via email and “cc” a building administrator.
