Elephant & Piggie Night

Students and families celebrated their love of reading at Barlow Mountain's Elephant & Piggie Night on Monday, November 6. Teachers from Kindergarten, First Grade, and the Literacy Team led Barlow students in fun stations that focused on the books and drawings of Mo Willems, a popular children's author and illustrator. Participants learned how to draw Gerald, the elephant character from the Elephant & Piggie series, made elephant and pig puppets and crafts, created their own character speech bubbles, and had a chance to read various Mo Willems' books at a comfy "Read More Mo" station. Principal Rebecca Pembrook and Elementary Supervisor Sarah Weirsman joined the fun, as well as Superintendent Karen Baldwin and K-12 Humanities Director Alison Villanueva. The Barlow community loves to read and the smiles on everyone's faces lit up the room!
